He is registered with the South African Institute of Occupational Hygienist (SAIOH) as an Occupational Hygienist.

He represented the following committees:

Chairperson of the Council for Diving Work of South Africa for 5 years and responsible for the writing of the Diving Regulation, 2001.

Committee member of the Institute of Safety Management (IoSM) - representing the Department Of Labour.

Advisory Council for the Cape Technikon.

Moderator for B-Tech students in Environmental Health at Cape and Peninsula Techinikon's.

Part time lecture for 3rd year students in Environmental Health on the subject of Occupational Health and Safety (Hygiene) at the Cape Technikon.

Chairperson: SAIOH Western Cape Branch.

He spent 14 years with Department of Labour and held the position as the Assistant Director.
He specialised in Health and Safety Legal Compliance Audits, Hazard Identification Risk Assessments, Occupational Health and Hygiene, Commercial Diving, Legislation, Training and Incident Investigations in all fields of industry, Nationally and Internationally.
He also prepares documentation and assists Employers for Industrial related court proceedings.

Rudelle van der Merwe: Consultant

Rudelle possesses the following qualifications:

Part time lecture at Cape Technikon (Occupational Hygiene).

Member of a task team appointed by the Director - General of the Department of Labour to investigate Labour Inspection Services in the UK, Netherlands, France and Germany.

He spent 15 years with Department of Labour as a member of the Inspection and Enforcement Services Business Unit. When he left the Department of Labour he held the position as Manager: IES Business Unit.
