Lead
The Safety Network (Africa) (Pty) Ltd, is approved to conduct lead surveys. Lead can be in the form of organic (Tetra-Ethyl) or inorganic (Normal grey matter) lead.
In terms of regulation 7 of the Lead Regulations, 2002, as incorporated under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993, it is required to have a measurement programme for the airborne exposure to lead if it exceeds half of the OEL.
Lead is a known carcinogen and therefore being exposed to lead should be taken seriously.
